Coin

[ Roman coin ] This coin is a silver denarius, although it is rather debased and so is coloured by copper corrosion products. It bears the head of the Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius and was issued in A.D.148-9. The problem with coins is that it is not always easy to tell when they are lost (although it's a fairly safe bet that it was after they were minted).

The scale at the bottom of the image is marked in centimetres.
