Samian Stamp

 [ Manufacturer's stamp on a Samian vessel ] This is the inside of the base of a Samian cup bearing the manufacturer's stamp, which reads QVINTIM, or Quinti m(anu), 'by the hand of Quintus'. It dates to the second half of the 2nd century A.D. and was manufactured at Lezoux in France.

Samian was the fine tableware of Roman Britain.
