The Via Sagularis

[ The rampart-back road ] At the northern extremity of the site, just beyond the north-east corner of the officer's quarters, a short length of the rampart-back road (or via sagularis) survived. It sloped upwards towards the Salvation Army Citadel (in the background) but had been truncated by later engineering of the site in order to level it.

Immediately north of the corner of the building, and cut through the road surface, was a pit containing animal bone and other waste.
