So, here we are. I am a writer, publisher, and archaeologist who lives in Chirnside in the south-eastern corner of Scotland . I study the Romans, but am interested in all sorts of things... except perhaps other people's home pages.

Should you so desire, you will be able to find information about a newsletter and a journal I edit, as well as embark upon mini cybertours on the monuments of Jordan and Syria. What more could a person ask?

To give you a long list of personal preferences, favourite colours,* or the details of my cat's inside leg measurements would be a complete waste of time for both you and me. However, I am rather proud of once (long ago) having won a prize in a Puffin Club Noel Streatfield competition and I enjoy cycling around the Merse (these two pastimes are, in case you have not yet guessed, unrelated). Fascinating. Here's a picture of me (a 34K JPEG).

*Actually, I'm quite partial to 2.5 YR 5/2 'weak red', as soils go
